SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center
Part of SSM Health Care, Cardinal Glennon is a not-for-profit hospital that was founded in 1956. The hospital’s mission includes providing exceptional health care services to all children including comprehensive heart, liver, and kidney transplant programs. Mid-America Transplant is the organ recovery partner for Cardinal Glennon.
St. Louis Children’s Hospital
Founded in 1879, St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s mission is to do what is right for children. In addition to a full range of pediatric services, the hospital provides a transplant program for lungs, hearts, heart-lungs, livers, and kidneys. Mid-America Transplant is the organ recovery partner for St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Saint Louis University Hospital
Performing its first kidney transplant in 1968, Saint Louis University Hospital has grown to provide comprehensive medical care for patients in need of liver, kidney, kidney-pancreas, and/or isolated pancreas transplants. Acelity (formerly, LifeCell)
Acelity develops innovative tissue repair products used in surgical procedures related to reconstructive, orthopedic and urogynecology. Formed in 1986, Acelity is a for-profit company located in New Jersey and is accredited by the AATB. Mid-America Transplant provides donated skin and has worked with Acelity for over 5 years.
AlloSource is a nonprofit, Denver, CO-based tissue bank founded in 1994. MTS was one of three original partners to create AlloSource, which was founded on a promise to honor and respect the gift of donation by responsibly developing, processing, and distributing life-saving and life-enhancing allografts to the communities in which their OPO partners were located. They are committed to the wishes of donor families, the needs of surgeon customers, and the hopes of their patient recipients. Their promise of “doing more with life” reflects their unwavering focus on integrity, quality, safety, and respect. They process musculoskeletal and skin donations into a wide variety of life-enhancing and life-saving grafts. AlloSource is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB).
Bone Bank Allografts
Bone Bank Allografts distributes high quality bone and soft tissue allografts to medical professionals. Founded in 1993 and located in San Antonio, Texas, Bone Banks Allografts is a for profit company with a distribution area that began in Texas and has grown to cover the globe. They are accredited by the AATB and have worked with Mid-America Transplant since May 2016.
CryoLife is a for-profit, Atlanta, GA-based biological medical device company that, since its founding in 1984, has been focused on the development of implantable biological devices, surgical adhesives, and biomaterials for use in cardiac and vascular procedures for patients of all ages. Mid-America Transplant provides heart valve, saphenous and femoral vein, and cardiovascular patch grafts for processing into grafts for a variety of patient needs. Mid-America Transplant has worked with CryoLife since 1988. CryoLife is accredited by the AATB.
Lattice Biologics products enhance surgical outcomes by advancing technology in natural and regenerative tissue engineering for bone, skin, and cartilage solutions. Lattice Biologics is a for profit company with its corporate headquarters located in Scottsdale, Arizona and has worked Mid-America Transplant since 2015.
LifeNet Health is a nonprofit division of the Norfolk, VA-based organ procurement organization, LifeNet Health Transplant Services, founded in 1982. LifeNet’s mission is to achieve total customer satisfaction in all of the products and services they provide. LifeNet processes cardiovascular tissues used to restore health to patients around the country. Mid-America Transplant has worked with Lifenet since 1990. LifeNet is accredited by the AATB.
RTI Biologics is a for-profit Alachua, FL-based processor of biologic and tissue implants founded as Regeneration Technologies in 1998. Their mission is to improve lives by using the body to heal the body to achieve life-restoring results. Mid-America Transplant provides bone and skin donations and has worked with RTI since 2008. RTI is accredited by the AATB.
Formed in 2006, Mid-America Transplant was one of six organ procurement organizations that originally partnered and invested to form LifeLogics. The nonprofit, private foundation was created to provide a data management solution for the organ and tissue recovery industry. LifeLogics services began with the creation of an electronic health record system, TrueNorth, that helps organizations improve efficiency, data collection, and reporting. Through a Partner Consortium effort, LifeLogics has grown and continues to develop other modules to help further its mission, to build, manage, improve, and deploy effective software products for the communities it serves.
