State Capitol, Jefferson City, MO
Capitol Day is an observance at the State Capitol that provides the opportunity to share education and communicate with the public, legislators and other agencies that support organ, eye and tissue donation. The event calls attention to the number of individuals who are on the waiting list for an organ, as well as the number of gifts that have been given and information about the donor registry.
An exhibit table will be set up on the Third Floor Rotunda of the State Capitol from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Donor Family Recognition Program
As part of Capitol Day, donor families whose loved one was a donor in 2016 are invited to participate in the Donor Family Recognition Program. Donor family members share their story, are recognized by the House and are presented with a certificate in recognition of the generous gift of life given by their loved one. The Donor Family Recognition Program is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in House Hearing Room 2 located on the Basement floor of the State Capitol.
