The St. Louis City Board of Alderman announced a resolution on Friday, April 27 declaring April as National Donate Life Month in St. Louis. Mid-America Transplant Services was honored to be invited by Jeffery Boyd, 22nd Ward Alderman, to share the valuable message of organ and tissue donation with the Board and receive the resolution.
MTS was joined by heart recipient, Larry Bonds, and Carol Evans, whose son donated organs and tissue about 20 years ago. Both shared their stories with the Board.
The resolution acknowledges the 1,300 St. Louisans who are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. For these individuals, a transplant is their only hope for survival.
