Mid-America Transplant Services was awarded second place in the Float Division of the Annie Malone Parade judging on Friday, June 8. The parade committee presented MTS with a trophy at a reception.
The MTS float consisted of a 25-person, horse-drawn carriage in which Donor Families and transplant recipients rode for the one-mile parade on Sunday, May 20 through Downtown St. Louis. MTS employees walked alongside the carriage and helped hand out beaded necklaces and candy to spectators.
MTS participated in the parade to honor Donor Families and transplant recipients. Additionally, float participants aimed to raise awareness and encourage spectators to enroll in the state organ and tissue donor registry to help the more than 1,300 St. Louisans waiting for a life-saving organ transplant today.
The City of Berkeley won the Float Division judging. The City of Ferguson was third. Visit the Annie Malone Parade website for a complete list of parade winners.
