Operating three local license offices and partnering with four more, Mid-America Transplant Services is committed to creating a pro-donation environment in these offices throughout the St. Louis area with fresh paint, new décor and donation-related signage.

The signage features local transplant recipients, their stories and inspiring language. The newest feature in some of the offices is a wall on which those who join the registry can affix a signed cutout heart decal.  “If they say they don’t want to be an organ donor, I ask if they want to be a hero and put their name on the wall,” said Callie, a clerk at the South Kingshighway office. “People get really excited about that.”

Mid-America Transplant Services also installed a new waiting system to limit lengthy waits in its license offices and is continually testing new ideas to increase organ and tissue donor registry.
