MTS Operating Room Called a "Novel Facility"
Posted February 26, 2014 in News Category
Mid-America Transplant Services was the first to offer transplant surgeons a designated organ recovery operating room in its facility, and a recent study published in the American Journal of Transplantation is showing the benefits of this innovation. Time is of great importance when recovering organs for transplant, and recovery can often be delayed in hospitals because of busy operating room schedules. MTS’s facility allows for a more efficient and less costly process, while dedicated clinical management ensures more lives are saved by the precious Gift of Life.
MTS recently welcomed Associated Press health reporter Marilynn Marchione to its facility to discuss the onsite operating room with MTS personnel and transplant surgeons. She submitted a news story and video story above about MTS’s innovative approach.
