Kidney Transplant Recipients Benefit from Shorter Wait Times in St. Louis

Shirley Washington of Fox 2 told the story on Tuesday of actor Marlon Sanders, who received a kidney transplant when he moved back to his hometown of St. Louis after waiting for a transplant for more than three years in Los Angeles.
Shirley interviewed Donna Smith, director of organ procurement at MTS, to explore why the kidney waiting time in St. Louis is shorter than many areas of the country. Donna primarily identifying the generosity of the St. Louis community and the population size.
The report concluded by encouraging others to join the registry by visiting the MTS website. This act can save eight lives and improve 50 more.
