April 2012 Archives
The St. Louis City Board of Alderman announced a resolution on Friday, April 27 declaring April as National Donate Life Month in St. Louis.
Right now, there are 113,787 Americans, including 1,356 Missourians, waiting for life-saving organ transplants. Thousands more are preparing for life-enhancing cornea and tissue transplants. During National Donate Life Month this April, Donate Life Missouri (DLM) will raise awareness about the growing need for donors with a special “Donor Day at the Capitol” on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Secretary of State Jesse White urged all Illinoisans to join the state’s organ and tissue donor registry, following the unveiling of an ad campaign featuring Vikki Tulcus, a long-time advocate of the organ/tissue donor program, who now finds herself in need of a kidney.
