Mid-America Transplant Services opened in December the Family House, a 10-apartment wing of The Lofts at the Highlands. It was dedicated to longtime board member and Donor Family, Bob and Marge Murphy, and offers comfortable, safe and affordable housing for pre- and post-transplant patients who must locate to St. Louis to be near their transplant center hospital.
More than 70 organizations supporting Donate Life America’s lifesaving mission unveiled their 11th Donate Life Rose Parade float: “Light Up the World,” a festival of beautiful lanterns which will inspire viewers worldwide to save and heal lives through organ, eye and tissue donation. The Donate Life float and its honored participants are the centerpiece of a national campaign that leads up to the 2014 Rose Parade.
Mid-America Transplant Services dedicated its MTS Family House to Bob and Marge Murphy on Monday evening at a special open house for the Board of Directors.
Hundreds of patients come to St. Louis hospitals every year needing life-saving organ transplants. Many come from out of state or travel great distances. The MTS Family House will provide a comfortable, safe, and affordable place for families to stay while waiting to receive the Gift of Life.
