Study at Mid-America Transplant Leads to More Lifesaving Lung Transplants

The study found a 71 percent increase in lungs recovered for transplant when an organ procurement organization (OPO) followed a 10-step protocol in managing lung donors at an independent organ recovery facility, similar to that utilized by Mid-America Transplant.

Missouri Governor Signs Law Increasing Organ, Eye, and Tissue Education Opportunities

Under the law, when a state or nationally recognized organization requests to make a presentation on organ, eye and tissue donation, the school board must allow 30 minutes for the presentation. The school board will then determine if the information will be shared with students and parents within the school district.
