Family House Guest Guidelines
- Children are the sole responsibility of their parent or guardian. Children under the age of 16 must be always under the care & control of a parent or guardian while on premises.
- Family House quiet hours are 9PM – 8AM. No guests are allowed after 9:00PM. Overnight visitors must be approved in advance by Family House management.
- Reports of excessive noise, violence or threats of violence, or other disturbances may lead to a request to vacate immediately.
- Dress Code – Guests are expected to dress appropriately for a family environment.
- For the safety of you and your fellow guests, entrances to the Mid-America Transplant Family House are never to be propped open or opened for anyone not in your party. Guests are responsible for securing all valuables; Mid-America Transplant does not provide security and will not be responsible or liable for any lost, stole, or damaged property of guests.
- Smoking of any kind–including vape pens and medically prescribed cannabis–is not permitted anywhere on the Family House premises (this includes all areas within the gated boundary, including in vehicles).
- Space heaters are not allowed. We will provide extra blankets if needed.
- No pets of any kind. Do not leave pets in cars. No firearms are allowed on the premises, including those left in cars.
- If using sharps, you must provide your own sharps container and take it with you. Sharps should not be placed into the trash.
- Guests are responsible for the cleanliness of their apartment (including towels & linens) throughout their entire stay. Weekly Health and Safety checks may be scheduled by Mid-America Transplant Family House Staff.
- Trash Disposal is the responsibility of each guest and must be disposed of regularly in the appropriate trash chute located by the west stairwell.
- Non-emergent maintenance needs should be reported to Family House staff at 314-357-6261 during normal business hours of 7:30AM – 4PM. More urgent maintenance situations (something that would cause harm/damage to you, your property or Family House property) should be reported to: 314-308-6009. For medical emergencies dial 911.
- Guests are responsible for any damage to furniture or housewares during their stay. Damages beyond normal wear will be at the expense of the guest.
- We must maintain the privacy of other guests. This includes, but is not limited to, the use/posting of names, photos, or other identifying characteristics of any other guests staying at the Family House without their consent on any type of social media.
- A flat screen TV equipped with cable service is provided. Changes in cable service and/or pay-per-view purchases on our account are not allowed. Any TV, internet or cable repair requests should be made to Family House staff during normal business hours. The cable provider only has access to apartment service during normal business hours.
- It is expressly prohibited to use the Family House wireless/internet to illegally download, or stream copyright protected materials (games, movies, music, software, etc.). If notified by our carrier that such activity is occurring, access to internet service may be discontinued.
- Guests have access to the Business Center, on the first floor across from the elevators. Please see the guidelines for use in your guest binder.
- Guests are solely responsible for coordinating any transportation needed.
- Each apartment is given one “Resident” parking spot. Additional cars should use street parking (please note street signs for any parking restrictions). Disabled spots cannot be reserved, are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and may only be used by guests with a disabled parking permit or plate.
- Access codes, key cards and keys must not be copied or shared with unregistered guests. Rent payment is due by 5PM on the first business day of each month. Payments not received by 10am on the 5th business day of each month will assess a $20 late fee. If payment is not received by the 5th business day at 5pm, the Guest may be asked to vacate the Mid-America Transplant Family House.
- Mid-America Transplant does not provide permanent lodging. Please notify Mid-America Transplant staff of potential “go home” date ASAP so that we may plan accordingly. We understand that the situation may change at the last minute.
- Guests must remove ALL personal items, food, etc. before vacating the apartment.
- Check- out cleaning (see guest binder) must be complete before vacating.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in guest(s)’ removal from the Family House.
