Honoring Our Donor Heroes with Robust Clinical Research
Because every organ and tissue donation deserves the highest chance for success.
Every successful transplantation has decades of clinical research behind it — and countless donor heroes who selflessly said “yes” to life. Achieving a high success rate is the best way we can honor their gifts. Clinical research makes it possible.
A Leader in Clinical Innovation
Mid-America Transplant has long been a leader in clinical innovation for stewarding organ and tissue donations. In addition to research around improving heart quality, Dr. Marklin and Mid-America Transplant have published several industry-first innovations around lung and kidney donations that have led to even more lives saved.

Since 2016, the Mid-America Transplant Foundation, through its Clinical Innovation Fund, has provided funding for research projects that seek to improve outcomes of organ and tissue donation and transplantation — and reduce the need for the thousands of people on the waitlist.
