Faith-based Resources

Mid-America Transplant recognizes the important role faith plays, not only within the communities we serve, but also with individuals’ end-of-life decisions. The diverse faith organizations throughout our region are trusted community institutions with long histories of engagement within their communities, and we are committed to serving and supporting them while educating congregations about organ, eye, and tissue donation.
Many people are not sure about whether their faith has any implications on donation and misconceptions may exist. Together, we can clarify and inform so that every person can be confident in their decisions around donation, and we can bring hope and healing to those in our community.
Our efforts to engage faith communities include:
- Attending health/community fairs
- Presenting during services, workshops, and classes, or for special occasions
- Conversing and engaging with clergy across our region to learn about different faith beliefs, and to share information and address misconceptions around faith and donation
- Providing a free program focused on physical and mental health concerns

Faith-Based Health Program Initiative
Our Faith-Based Health Program is an initiative that will provide congregations with free resources to address the holistic needs of their community. These resources will address physical and mental health concerns that are common within our region in order to provide education that will positively impact overall health.
Resources include: short announcements, simple graphics, and materials focused on a specific health topic each month. Our hope is that this program will lead to healthier people in our communities, thereby reducing the number of people who end up needing lifesaving organ transplants.
Join our health program or become an organization that supports organ and tissue donation by contacting us via the link below. Or, fill out our form to request a speaker for your upcoming meeting or event.
