We’re here for you and your patients.

Conversations about organ and tissue donation happen during some of the most delicate moments in a family’s life. Our mission is to support you — nurses, physicians, chaplains, and all medical professionals — so that every donor family is cared for with compassion and confidence.

We collaborate with 120+ hospitals across our service area to make this process seamless, ensuring that families feel respected and patients’ wishes are honored.

As a medical professional, you play a vital role with potential donors and initiating timely conversations. Mid-America Transplant is here to guide you through that process with sensitivity and clarity.

When you call us, we provide:

  • Expert guidance on next steps
  • Clinical coordination for organ and tissue donation
  • Support for families during this deeply emotional time

Mid-America Transplant offers tools, education, and in-person support to help you feel prepared and confident.

Online Training Modules

Organ & Tissue Donation Process

This module is designed for nurses, physicians, or chaplains working in the intensive care unit and caring for patients who suffer severe neurological injuries and/or brain death.

Tissue Donation Process

This module is ideal for any nurse or chaplain involved in the post care of any expired patient outside of the ICU.

The medical community plays a critical role in organ and tissue donation. We partner with you throughout the entire process.

Organ Procurement Coordinators (OPCs) manage the clinical care of donor heroes and coordinate organ allocation.
Tissue Ocular Procurement Coordinators (TOPCs) recover tissue such as skin, bone, corneas, and heart valves.

Path of Honor
These are moving ceremonies that pay tribute to donor heroes as they make their final journey through the hospital. This moment allows staff and families to come together in gratitude, reflection, and respect for the gift of life.
