Kinley Walker

Kinley was diagnosed with a life threatening liver disease called Biliary Atresia when she was 2 months old. She had a surgery immediately to try and restore bile flow from her liver to her intestines, but her liver was already damaged and her health deteriorated. She was listed for a liver transplant at 6 months old, but then things improved somewhat and she was able to come off of the list for a few years. At age 5, her health started to deteriorate more quickly, and she was again placed on the liver transplant list. After waiting 5 weeks, her family received the call that there was a liver available for Kinley, and she received her gift of life. Today Kinley is a 4th grader who loves riding horses, art, swimming, riding in tractors with her dad, and showing goats and cows at the county fair.
