Isaac Akers

In my second year of collegiate coaching at Eastern Kentucky University, I was diagnosed with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). This led to a six-year journey of being on dialysis while maintaining a professional career. During those six years, I also went through three hip, eye, and parathyroid surgeries. With a ton of prayer and being a spiritual warrior, the long journey of battling a kidney disease came to an end on December 23, 2025! Life has since been amazing and freeing. I’m looking forward to my third season at Lindenwood University, coaching and being healthy!
