Quincy Rainey
Quincy is waiting for the call that will change his life.
Quincy is a 17-year-old athlete who had never had heart complications. He was a full-time track and field athlete and a football player until February 4, 2026, when this all started.
What started as a lingering illness turned into every parent’s nightmare. After what we thought was bronchitis, Quincy became dizzy at school, and his pediatrician sent him to the ER. That day, we learned he was in heart failure.
Despite aggressive treatment, Quincy’s heart continued to weaken. He spent weeks in the ICU on IV medications, and it became clear he would need a heart transplant. Before he could be listed, doctors discovered dangerously high pressure in his lungs, making a transplant unsafe.
To save his life and give his body time to heal, Quincy underwent open-heart surgery to place a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). He also needed temporary right-heart support. Through every surgery, setback, and long hospital day, Quincy never stopped smiling or fighting.
After 7 weeks of intensive care, hard work, and unbelievable strength, Quincy’s numbers finally improved. He reached a milestone we have been praying for:
Quincy is officially on the heart transplant list.
We are now home, surrounded by love, waiting for the call that will change his life. This journey is far from over, but Quincy continues to face it with courage, hope, and a smile that lights up every room.
